Electronic Security Technician Job Responsibilities:
Provides the implementation of and on-going support for electronic security systems by installing, operating, programming, servicing and maintaining a variety (access, intrusion and CCTV) of Electronic Security System (ESS) equipment.
Electronic Security Technician Job Duties:
• Installs ESS based on plans and technical specifications; in addition to the actual installation, this may involve ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site; preparing an installation diagram.
• Establishes ESS infrastructure by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing head-end equipment, controls, switches, power supplies, and field devices; building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; activating remote access tools; coordinating with contractors.
• Work in a variety of environments such as, in weather (hot and cold) on exterior construction sites, in confined spaces, utility/machine rooms, on ladders, on exterior lifts, rooftops and/or other heights

• Provide labor to transfer tools and material as needed
This entails being able to individually carry items up to 50 lbs.
• Verifies service and system functionality by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems.
• Documents work by labeling equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications.
• Maintains ESS by troubleshooting and repairing faults; testing and updating documentation.
• Maintains positive corporate image through professional appearance and establishing customer good rapport by listening to and understanding the customer's goals.
• Maintains safe work environment by following applicable codes, standards, and legal regulations.
• Updates technical knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications and membership in trade groups.
• Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for projects; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Will work in accordance with the job-site schedule hours (may include some off-hours work) and will work independently and/or with others, as required based on project requirements

Electronic Security Technician Skills and Qualifications:
Knowledge of Electronic Security Systems Engineering, Technologies, Provisioning, Technical Understanding, Functional and Technical Skills, Independence, Attention to Detail, Verbal Communication, Documentation Skills

Preferred Qualifications:
• ESS Installation and Service Experience
• Locksmith Skills and/or Experience
• Ability to Read and Understand Construction Plans
• Active ESS Registrations and Certifications
• Manufacturer Equipment Certifications
• Knowledge of Computers and Networking
• Construction Experience
• High Energy with Can Do Attitude
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance
